The badminton matches of the 38th National Games are set to start on January 29 at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Parade Ground, in Dehradun. The championship will run until February 4 and promises an exciting week as India’s top badminton players come together to compete for national glory.
Top players and teams
Athletes from all over India, from states like Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, will compete. Some medallists from the last National Games, like Aditi Bhatt from Uttarakhand, Saurabh Verma from Madhya Pradesh, and Simran Singhi from Maharashtra, will also be playing, hoping to win more prizes.
How the matches are organised
This year, the championship includes both team and individual events, with matches in men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. For the first four days, team events will be the main focus, with men’s and women’s teams each playing five matches against their rivals. Each match will include three singles and two doubles games, making sure that team members have various opportunities to participate.
