Star Pro Kabaddi League players from Iran, Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabibakhsh will lead their team’s challenge at the Asian Games 2023, beginning on September 23. Not just that, Mohammadreza Shadloui, who is perhaps the best defender in the world currently, will add to Iran’s firepower in the tournament.
Reza Mirbagheri and Amirhossein Bastami are the two other players in the Iran Kabaddi squad, who have played in the Pro Kabaddi League. Iran is the defending champion in both men’s and women’s categories, and their biggest competition will be India once again. At the 2018 Asian Games, Irani men had beaten India in the semis, and in the women’s section, they beat the same opponents in the final.
Meanwhile, India is the most successful team in kabaddi, having won all gold medals on offer, except for the 2018 edition. On the other hand, Iran has just retained two players, Fazel Atrachali, and Mohammad Nabibakhsh from their last Asian Games squad.
