Having ended his pro-boxing career in 2005, Mike Tyson’s personality has gone through some serious transitions. The heavyweight stalwart now appears to be a friendly personality who is regularly seen in podcasts, events, and media ceremonies. Tyson hosts the ‘HotBoxin podcast’, where he frequently reveals his honest perception on several aspects.

He did the same in the latest episode with rapper Cordae as the guest. Talking about his perspective of God, Mike Tyson also revealed how he foresees death.

The youngest heavyweight champion ever said, “What is God? My perspective, I think we are in the little rocket, when we leave the earth and when we look back at the earth and that’s God. The earth is God. This is God. I mean the earthquake, the tornadoes. This is god, yeah, and we are just insects. We have a season. Like the plants, they have a season. Then we go back to death. That’s what it is. Life is just a beautiful process of dying and nothing really scary about it. It happens to everyone. Everyone has to go through that process.”

Mike Tyson called himself religious and spiritual before expressing his views on God. Recently, the boxer was spotted with musician DJ Khaled at Mecca. The duo performed Umrah together while Khaled became emotional.  DJ Khaled posted a video on social media and expressed his religious gratitude.

In the caption, he wrote, “The second I walked in Mecca tears came down my eyes Tears of joy.. my whole life I wanted to go to MECCA TO PRAY AND TO GIVE MY GRATITUDE TO ALLAH. I prayed for the world for more love more life more more peace more joy more happiness more health and protection for all of us ! GOD IS THE GREATEST!!!!! Although Mike Tyson is still recognized by his Christian name, he took the name of Malik Abdul Aziz as a Muslim. According to reports, Tyson changed his religion in prison back in 1992. Ending all debates on his religion, Tyson once talked about it openly in an episode of the Full Send Podcast.

Mike Tyson said, “I have the characteristics of many religions, but I’m a Muslim. Somebody might think if I f**king speak Yiddish or if I speak Arabic, someone might think I’m either one or something. But, um, I love God. I do more praying than I can do. You know, my faith is to god and when I die Imma die a Muslim, it’s just who I am as a person.”
