Jannik Sinner defeated Andrey Rublev to reach the quarterfinal at the Miami Open. The 10th seeded Italian sailed past sixth seeded Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-4 in the fourth round.
The 21-year old is in terrific form in the tournament. He is yet to drop a set so far. He began his campaign with victory against Laslo Djere in the second round. He also defeated Grigor Dimitrov before facing Rublev in the fourth round.
Emil Ruusuvuori has reached his career’s first ever Masters 1000 quarterfinal. He defeated Nuno Borges in straight sets in the first round. In the second round he faced 22nd seed Roberto Bautista Agut and defeated the Spaniard 6-4, 7-6. He also clinched a straight set win against Taro Daniel in the next round.
He faced 26th seed Botic van de Zanschulp in the fourth round and clinched a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 win to set up clash against Jannik Sinner.

Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz have set up a blockbuster quarterfinal contest in the Miami Open. Defending champion Alcaraz is aiming to reach his fourth successive quarterfinal in the ATP Tour this year. The Spaniard is yet to drop a set in the tournament and looks to win his 10th successive match in the tour.
Taylor Fritz meanwhile eyes his maiden appearance in the semifinal at Miami. The American who is also the 9th seed has also shown tremendous form in the tournament. He sailed past opponents like Emilio Nava, 24th seed Denis Shapovalov and 7th seed Holger Rune in straight games to enter the quarterfinals. Both the players are set to face each other for the first time in the ATP Tour.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Sorana Cirstea
For the first time in 10 years, Sorana Cirstea will play in the semifinals of a WTA 1000 event after the unseeded Romanian upset No.2 seed and reigning Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka in Wednesday’s quarterfinals at the Miami Open.
In their first career meeting, Cirstea beat Sabalenka 6-4, 6-4 in the last eight to move into the penultimate round of a tournament of this size for the first time since finishing runner-up to Serena Williams in Toronto in 2013.
Petra Kvitova vs Ekaterina Alexandrova
Petra Kvitova is aiming to reach her maiden Miami Open semifinal. The 33-year old Czech will face Ekaterina Alexandrova in the quarterfinal. Kvitova is the 15th seed and she defeated opponents like Linda Noskova, Donna Vekic and Varvara Gracheva in straight sets to enter the quarterfinal.
18th seed Alexandrova meanwhile began the tournament with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win in the second round. She then clinched an upset win against 9th seed Belinda Bencic in straight sets. She received a walkover to the quarterfinal after an injury to her opponent Bianca Andreescu in the fourth round. The Russian is aiming her second successive semifinal in Miami Open.
