Miami Open 2022 LIVE: Two-time Miami Open champion Andy Murray will take on World No.2 Daniil Medvedev in the second round of the 2022 Miami Open on Saturday. Andy Murray defeated Federico Delbonis 7-6(4) 6-1 to reach the second round while Medvedev earned a bye and is looking to get back to be the World No.1 after losing it to Djokovic due to his third round exit in the Indian Wells Masters. Medvedev on 28 February became the World No.1 for the first-time in his career by overtaking 20-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic. He could however stay on top for only two weeks as his third round loss against Gael Monfils in the Indian Wells Masters ended his reign. If Medvedev can reach the semi-finals at Miami, he will once again become the World No.1. The four-time ATP Masters 1000 titlist is also fighting to earn his first title of the season in Florida.

Meanwhile, Murray is looking to break his streak of losing in the second round in five consecutive tournaments this year. The former World No.1, who made a terrific return to the circuit after undergoing two hip surgeries, started the year with a first round exit in the Melbourne Summer Set. He then finished as the runner-up in the Sydney International. However right from the Australian Open to the Indian Wells Masters, he couldn’t go past the second round in any tournament.

Medvedev vs Murray Head-to-Head: This will be the second meeting between both the players. They have faced each other in the 2019 Brisbane International in which Medvedev won the game 7-5, 6-2. The 26-year old Russian once again enters the contest as the favourite.

Murray knows the kind of challenge he will be up against when he takes on the World No.2. as he termed the upcoming contest as the tough match for him. “Tough match.
