Manu Bhaker shares post on ‘Pariksha Season’: Know her academic journey

Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medalist, shares her exam season post while pursuing a master's in Public Administration and planning to resume training in November.

Manu Bhaker, the two-time Olympic medalist, is currently enjoying her break. She recently shared a post on Instagram posing in front of a building with “Examination Hall” written on it. She captioned the post “Pakriksha Season,” which means exam season.

Manu Bhaker’s Academic journey and education

Manu Bhaker completed her schooling at Universal Higher Senior Secondary School in Goria village, founded by her grandfather Raj Karan. At just 15 years old, she emerged as one of India’s leading female shooters, clinching multiple gold medals at the 2017 National Games. While excelling in sports, she also focused on her education, earning a degree in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi, in 2021. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s in Public Administration at DAV College, Chandigarh.

Future training plans for Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker plans to resume her training in November and aims to compete next year. She had taken a break earlier to recover from injuries.

Medal achievements in Paris Olympics from Manu

In a noteworthy achievement, the duo of Manu and Sarabjot defeated South Korea’s Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the bronze medal playoff match. Both Manu and Sarabjot shot consistently, regularly scoring 10s in their series against the South Koreans to secure India’s second medal.

Manu Bhaker started India’s medal tally in the Olympics by securing third place in the women’s individual 10m air pistol event, becoming the first-ever woman shooter to win an Olympic medal for India. Following that, she and Sarabjot Singh won the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking India’s first-ever shooting team medal.

Near miss at the Paris Olympics for Manu Bhaker

Manu had the opportunity to finish her Paris Olympics campaign with three medals, a feat that no Indian has achieved before. She qualified for the third-place playoff match against Hungary’s Veronika Major but unfortunately lost the match, finishing in fourth place. Manu is also the second Indian female athlete, alongside PV Sindhu, to win multiple Olympic medals
