Manu Bhaker guaranteed Rs 1 crore after two medals at Paris Olympics, looks good for few more

Paris Olympics: The IOA will offer Rs 50 lakh each for each bronze medal at the Olympics,

After Manu Bhaker has won her twin medals, weirdly enough, somehow the focus for her fans really isn’t, if she’s going to win her third medal at Paris Olympics 2024, but on what rewards is she going to get for her stupendous feat. It must be reminded to one and all, that Manu had won twin bronzes in 10m air pistol and 10m air pistol mixed team events.

What Prize Money Will Manu Bhaker Win for Her Twin Medals?

Manu Bhaker has an event still left — 25m air pistol, but she is already a legend. She is the only Indian to clinch two medals in the single edition of an Olympics. If one is to predict, what kind of prize money the 22-year-old can get, one has to look back at the cash prize, and rewards golden boy Neeraj Chopra had won after his efforts in Tokyo 2020. After all, it is no less mean achievement than that of the javelin specialist.

For starters, Neeraj Chopra was given a Rs 6 crore cash reward by the Haryana government, and class 1 state government job. Then Punjab government announced Rs 2 crore prize for him. Manipur went on to announce Rs 1 crore, and the BCCI also chipped in with Rs 1 crore. CSK wasn’t far behind with Rs 1 cr, apart from creating a special 8758 jersey for him.

Indigo Airlines offered free travel to Neeraj for a year, and got Mahindra XUV700. Lastly, BYJU’s offered him Rs 2 crore. That’s massive, right. So given the magnitude of Manu’s wins, she could be getting at least half of this amount — say close to Rs 7 crore. But once again, since it is two medals already, it all likelihood, it will be more certainly.

Then, IOA will also give Rs 50 lakh for each bronze medal won – so that is Rs 1 cr for sure. Still, what remains unclear is, how much will the Haryana government offer her, considering they are pretty generous with what they offer their champion athletes.
