PV Sindhu vs Tai Tzu-ying
Sindhu suffered a 21-13, 15-21, 13-21 loss against Tai Tzhu-Ying to bow out of the Malaysia Open. With this loss, Sindhu has now lost six straight games against the World No.3 and trails 5-16 in the head-to-head record.
Sindhu made a slow start in the first game and trailed 2-5 in the opening game. She soon got her act together and took a 6-5 lead and from then on began dominating the set. Tai Tzu Ying struggled in the game by committing way too many errors as Sindhu managed to win the game 21-13.
Sindhu also started the second game brightly but her fancied rival dominated the proceedings as she entered the break with a big 11-3 lead. Tai Tzu continued in the same vein but Sindhu relied on her powerful smashes to make a comeback and reduced the deficit to 15-17. But she gave away the next four points and lost the game.
In the last game, both the players fought tooth and nail till 12 points before Tai Tzu put Sindhu under pressure with a mix of drop shots and smashes to clinch the third game.

HS Prannoy gave a good fight against Jonatan Christie but it was not enough as he lost the match 21-18, 21-16. Prannoy won the first point of the match but couldn’t capitalise on it as Christie soon took the lead. From then on both the players were inlvolved in a neckk-to-neck battle and Christie went into the interval with 11-9 lead. Prannoy contiued to give a tough fight but couldn’t take the lead as he lost the set 21-18.
In the second set to similar pattern continued as Chritie continued to have a slender lead and entered the break with the score at 11-9 in his favour. Christie then managed to stay ahead and won the set 21-16.
