Alcaraz beat Djokovic Highlights: Alcaraz, started the game positively by breaking Djokovic in the very first set. He continued to challenge the Serbian with terrific drop shots and brilliant forehand winners. However in the eighth game of the first set, Djokovic showcased his class as he broke Alcaraz for the first time. From then on, the 20-time Grand Slam champion gained momentum as the set went into the tie-breaker. Djokovic staved off challenge from the teenager as he won the tiebreaker 7-5 to win the first set.

In the second set, Alcaraz fought back made a terrific comeback in the second set to take the semifinal contest against World No.1 Novak Djokovic into the decider.

Alcaraz continued to look the more dangerous player into the deciding set, with Djokovic fending off break points breaks in three of his service games. The Spaniard let a match point slip at 5-5, but the game went into the tie-breaker and this time, Alcaraz didn’t let it slip away as he held firm for a marathon three-hour, 35-minute win.

With the win, Alcaraz became the youngest-ever player to reach the final of Madrid Open.
