In front of an electric crowd at The O2, Tiafoe saved four match points in the second-set tie-break as he produced moments of magic at the crucial times to triumph after one hour and 48 minutes.
The American’s victory sparked scenes of celebration on the bench, with his teammates running onto court to embrace the World No. 19, who collapsed to the floor in delight.
“It is an unbelievable feeling,” Tiafoe said in his on-court interview. “Our captain Jonny Mac was tired of losing…saying we needed to get it done this year on his fifth try. All week leading up I kept saying this was our year. The guys showed up. Felix beat Novak, Jack and Felix also played unbelievable doubles. We all did it together, it wasn’t just me. I showed a lot of heart to get this done. This is big. We are going to celebrate big tonight.”

Novak Djokovic vs Felix Auger Aliassime
Felix Auger-Aliassime moved Team World to within one win of capturing its first Laver Cup title when he upset Team Europe’s Novak Djokovic 6-3, 7-6(3) to give his side a 10-8 lead in London. The Canadian played aggressively throughout the one-hour, 35-minute clash to earn his first win against the Serbian.
The Canadian broke Djokovic’s serve twice in the opening set to draw first blood in the contest by clinching it 6-3, He also took an early lead in the second set with the score at 3-1. Djokovic however began to find his range to drag the set into a tiebreaker. But his level dropped and Auger-Aliassime took advantage to record his first career win over the Serbian.
“I’ve been close a few times and in recent times to win against these great champions, so it feels great to get the win,” Auger-Aliassime said in his on-court interview. “Especially in front of the fans in this arena and for Team World.”

Team Europe squandered an opportunity to take a big lead as Matteo Berrettini and Andy Murray lost the doubles contest to Felix Auger Aliassime and Jack Sock. Berrettini and Murray started off positively by breaking the Team World pair twice in the first set to take 6-2 lead.
In the second set, Team World pair found their form as they started making a good comeback in the contest. They broke Europe’s first service game and from then on held on to their serves to take the match into the tie-breaker. In the 10-point tie-breaker, both the pairs gave a tough fight but Team world prevailed in the end by winningi it 10-8.

The matches for the night session is set to happen with Stefanos Tsitsipas taking on Frances Tiafoe. The winner is likely to be decided with this tie but Casper Ruud and Taylor Fritz are scheduled to play the final match of the day.
