India’s Lakshya Sen, a Commonwealth Games gold medalist, won the men’s singles competition at the Canada Open 2023 by defeating China’s Li Shi Feng. Indian ace shuttler defeated current All England champion and No. 10 in the world Chinese, in two straight sets, 21-18 and 22-20.
Lakshya Sen has now won two BWF World Tour 500 championships; his first was the India Open in January 2022.
Lakshya Sen currently ranked 19 in the world defeated WR-4 Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the Round of 32. Then he defeated WR-11 Japan’s Kento Nishimoto in the semis and WR-10 China’s Li Shi Feng in the summit clash to clinch the title.

How Lakshya Sen reached the Final?
Sen defeated Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto in the semifinal match in straight games, 21-17, 21-14, and advanced directly to the men’s singles championship match of the Canada Open 2023.
This Final was his 2nd appearance in the final of the BWF World Tour Super 500 event.
With victory in Canada Open 2023 Final, Sen has maintained his 100 percent winning record in the BWF Super 500 series summit clash.
