Korean Open LIVE: World No.8 Cameron Norrie, who had a good season so far will begin his Korea Open campaign on Tuesday by taking on Japan’s Kaichi Uchida in the second round. Norrie is the second seed in the tournament and he enters the South Korean capital after playing in the Laver Cup.   • Cameron Norrie replaced Rafael Nadal in the Laver Cup squad this year for Team Europe and played one singles match in which he lost to Taylor Fritz 1-6, 6-4, 6-10.
  • The British number one is looking to qualify for the ATP Finals later this year and with the Korea Open, he begins his tight scheduled over the next six weeks in which he is set to feature in five tournaments.
  • Norrie enjoyed a great second half this season as he reached his first-ever Grand Slam semifinal at the Wimbledon this year.
  • He also reached the fourth round at the US Open this year for the first time in his career.
  • Norrie won the Delray Beach Open earlier this year and also finished as runner-up at Mexican Open where he lost to Rafael Nadal in the final.
  • He won his second title this year at the Lyon Open just before the French Open. But he bowed out from the third round at Roland Garros after losing to Karen Khachanov.
  • He also finished as runner-up at Los Cabos Open and made it to the semifinals at Cincinnati Masters.

  • Kaichi Uchida enters the second round of the contest after sailing past South Korea’s Hong Seong-chan in straight games.
  • Uchida spent major part of this year on ITF and Challenger tournaments. He won the Oeiras Challenger title earlier this year.
  • He played his first qualifier of a Grand Slam tournament this year at the US Open, where he managed to reach the second round in qualifiers.
  • Just before the Korea Open, he made it to the quarterfinal at Cassis Open Provence which is also a Challenger event.
  • Uchida is currently ranked 163rd in the world and defeated a much lower ranked opponent in Hong Seong-chan in the first round, a big test however awaits in the upcoming match as he faces the World No.8 Norrie in the second round.

Norrie vs Uchida Head-to-Head: Both the players will face each other for the first time in their career. Hence their head-to-head record now stands 0-0. Norrie enters the contest as the absolute favourite and the Briton is expected to sail through the contest comfortably.
