After adding the WBA title to her collection and defeating Erika Cruz by brutal decision in February, Serrano just reached undisputed status. It was her second straight victory after she lost a closely contested, much-anticipated match against Katie Taylor in April 2022, almost missing out on Taylor’s lightweight belts.
Hardy held the WBO championship at the time Serrano and Hardy squared off for the first time in September 2019. Hardy was defeated by Serrano in a unanimous vote. Since that fight, Hardy has only once competed, losing a decision to Jessica Camara in May 2021. Despite her inactivity, Serrano is open to a rematch with the New Yorker.
Amanda Serrano x Heather Hardy 2 will serve as the co-main on the Jake Paul x Nathan Diaz card on Aug. 5 in Dallas, per a release.

Serrano says “I am the undisputed featherweight champion today because Heather Hardy agreed to fight me in 2019 for her WBO title,” Serrano said. “That was the first step in my current run at featherweight. It’s only right that I give her the opportunity to earn it back. I’m excited to once again share the card with Jake and put on an exciting war.”
