India’s top-ranked women’s single player, PV Sindhu, is not playing in the Uber Cup 2024. The World No. 12 has been riddled with injuries for the past few month and had returned to badminton after a five-month rest in March. After playing just four events, the champion player has decided to skip the Uber Cup.
The reason behind PV Sindhu missing the Uber Cup 2024?
The event, which will be played in Chengdu, China, from April 27 to May 5, will feature rising talents Anmol Kharb. However, Sindhu will be one of the biggest stars to miss the team event.
Announcing the squads for the event, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) revealed that Sindhu has expressed the desire to skip the Uber Cup. With two more events to be played in May, the star shuttler has decided to keep herself fresh for the Paris 2024 Olympics. A two-time medalist at the mega-event, it seems wise for the shuttler to miss the Uber Cup.
