This performance surpassed the previous national record of 3:14.34, set by the Indian team during their silver medal win at the Hangzhou Asian Games last year. Ajmal and Subha were a part of the Indian side that held the previous national record.
India fail to qualify for Paris Olympics
Despite this achievement, the team fell short of their goal to qualify for the Paris Olympics. Their timing places India in the 21st position on the World Athletics Road to Paris list, while they needed to be in either the 15th or 16th spot to secure an Olympic berth. Consequently, India faces a challenging path to making the cut for the Paris Olympics.
