Alexander Zverev vs Emil Ruusuvuori

Alexander Zverev eased into the third round of the tournament after a 6-3, 6-1 win against Pedro Cachin in the first round. Zverev made a comeback at the start of the year after recovering from ankle surgery. He bowed out from the second round at the Australian Open. The German continued his poor show at ATP Rotterdam and Qatar Open. However at the Dubai Championships, he managed to reach the semifinal and looks to continue the momentum. He currently looks in good touch.

Emil Ruusuvuori reveived a walkover from Constant Lestienne in the first round at Indian Wells. He then clinched an upset win against 22nd seed Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets to enter the third round. He aims to continue his good show against a much higher-ranked Alexander Zverev in the third round.

Andrey Rublev vs Ugo Humbert

Andrey Rublev, who finished as runner-up at Dubai Tennis Championships aims yet another deep run in the Indian Wells., He began his campaign in the second round and sailed past Jiri Lehecka in straight sets. He enters as the overwhelming favourite against unseeded Ugo Humbert.

Ugo Humbert is entering the contets after pulling off a straight set win against 25th seed Denis Shapovalov. The 24-year old is in good form as he defeated Zapatta Miralles in straight sets in the first round. He will however face an uphill task against Andrey Rublev.

Daniil Medvedev vs Ilya Ivashka

Daniil Medvedev is on a terrific 15-match unbeaten streak. The Russian is aiming to win his fourth successive title this year. He takes on unseeded Ilya Ivashka in the third round at Indian Wells. Medvedev defeated Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 6-3 in the second round.

Ivashka is yet to drop a set in the tournament. He sailed past Roman Safiullin 6-4, 6-2 in the first round. In the second round, he was up against 28th ranked Botic van de Zandschulp. Ivashka was leading 7-4, 3-2 before he was given a walkover.

Women’s Singles 

Jessica Pegula vs Anastasia Potapova

Jessica Pegula struggled in the first round but managed to clinch a come-from-behind win in three sets against Camilia Giorgi. The Second seed now aims to put on a much better show in the second round. She faces 26th seed Anastasia Potapova in the third round.

Potapova too had to clinch a three set win against China’s Wang Xiyu in her previous match. She received a bye from the first round. The Russian won the Linz Open title earlier this year and is aiming to make a deep run in the Indian Wells.

Coco Gauff vs Linda Noskova

Coco Gauff began her Indian Wells campaign with a dominant 6-2, 6-4 win against Cristina Bucsa. The sixth seed waims to continue her dominant form in the third round. She will be facing unseeded Linda Noskova.

Unseeded Noskova has made it to the third round after defeating 31st seed Amanda Anisimova in straight sets in the second round. Noskova began the campaign by defeating Irina Begu 7-6, 6-1. Noskova started the year by finishing as runner-up at Adelaide International 1. She also reached the quarterfinal at Lyon Open.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Lesia Tsurenko

World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka dropped just two games against Evgeniya Rodina in the first round. The reigning Australian Open champion aim to diminate yet again as she faces Lesia Tsurenko in the second round.

Lesia Tsurenko began her campaign in the tournament at the qualifiers. She was the ninth seed and wo both her qualifying matches in three sets. In the first round of the main draw, she defeated Zhu Lin in straight sets. In the second round, she clinched a come-from-behind win against Donna Vekic and has set up clash against Sabalenka.
