The year 2025 is going to be exciting for Indian sports fans, as a lot of exciting contests are coming up. The year will start with the Kho Kho World Cup in New Delhi from January 13 to 19. Badminton fans can catch the India Open, also in New Delhi, from January 14 to 19. The Mumbai Marathon on January 19 will witness the competition in the athletics world. Also, January will have the Khelo India Winter Games introduce multiple sports in the scenic regions of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir from January 23 to February 25. Cricket takes centre stage again with England touring India from January 22 to February 12.
National Games to some Tennis action
This year, the multi-sport events continue with the National Games in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14. Tennis enthusiasts have an exciting lineup with the Davis Cup in New Delhi, the Chennai Open, and the Delhi Open in February, followed by the Pune Challenger.
Gukesh to face Vishy
After a fantastic 2024, Indian chess star D. Gukesh is set to appear in major tournaments in 2025. In January, he will be participating in the Tata Steel Chess, followed by appearances in the Germany leg of the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam in February, where he will face legends like Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand. Gukesh will also feature in the Norway Chess tournament in May.
