Indian Para-Shooter Manish Narwal wins second consecutive medal in Paralympics

Manish won the silver medal in the men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 at the Paris Paralympics, adding to his gold from Tokyo.

Indian shooter Manish Narwal delivered more good news for India by winning the silver medal at the Paralympics. The 22-year-old clinched the silver in the men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event with a total score of 234.9 points, falling short against South Korean shooter by 2.5 points, who scored 237.4 points to secure gold.

This marks Manish’s second consecutive medal at the Paris Paralympics, following his gold medal win in the same event at the Tokyo Paralympics.

First Round: A rocky start

Manish kicked off with a challenging 8.1 but quickly rebounded with a 10.5. With subsequent scores of 9.8, 10.0, and 10.3, he finished sixth with 48.7 points.

Second Round: A stunning comeback

Manish staged a remarkable recovery, starting with 9.5 and later scoring 10.4. This performance catapulted him to second place with 137.6 points.

Third Round: Hitting the top spot

In the most productive round for Manish, he scored 10.0 and 10.4, pushing him into the lead over the Chinese shooter.

Fourth Round: A slip from the top

With scores of 9.9 and 9.8, Manish fell from the top spot to second place, accumulating a total of 177.7 points. Korea’s Jo Jeong-du surged ahead.

Fifth Round: The Korean’s commanding lead

The Korean shooter maintained a strong lead, while Manish stayed in second place with a total of 197.0 points.

Sixth Round: Fighting for gold

Manish began with 9.4 and 9.7, holding on to second place and continuing his quest for gold. Despite the challenge, he was 1.8 points behind, needing a miracle.

Final Round: Narrowly missing gold

Starting with 8.9, Manish faced a setback as the Korean shot 10.8, widening the gap to 3.7 points. Manish’s final 9.9 wasn’t enough as Jo Jeong-du’s 8.7 clinched the gold. Manish scored 234.9, while the South Korean finished with 237.4 points.
