Equestrian was first included in the Paris Summer Olympics in 1900. Now, this year, equestrian is once again part of the Paris Olympics 2024.
Anush Agarwalla will be the sole athlete representing India in equestrian. After winning a historic bronze medal in the 2022 Asian Games, he secured his ticket to Paris.
Venue for Equestrian at Paris Olympics 2024
The equestrian events will take place at the Palace of Versailles, marking the sport’s first return to Versailles since the 1900 Games. The Palace, built in 1623 by Louis XIII, is now owned by the government of France.
Equestrian Events at the Paris Olympics 2024
The events will start from July 27 to August 6, with individual and team medals awarded in each discipline.
Jumping includes timed obstacle courses, while dressage involves a horse and rider performing artistic movements to music. Eventing, similar to an equestrian ‘triathlon,’ combines dressage, jumping, and cross-country.
