The India women’s team at the U17 World Wrestling Championships lifted the cup for the first-time ever after putting up stellar performances in the event. With five gold medals and two bronze & one silver, India managed to secure 185 points to beat Japan and top the standings.

The first gold for India came from Aditi Kumari in the 43 kg category. Aditi showcased her dominance in the final against Maria Louiza Gkika of Greece, securing a comprehensive 7-0 victory. Neha added to India’s gold tally in the 57 kg category with a commanding win over Japan’s So Tsutsui.

In the 65 kg category, Pulkit secured India’s third gold medal with a hard-fought 6-3 win against Daria Frolova of Neutral Athletes. Mansi Lather capped off India’s golden run with a victory in the 73 kg final against Hanna Pirskaya. Kajal became the 5th gold medalist for India after winning her final bout in 69 kg category.
