India vs Sweden Day 2, Davis Cup: Balaji-Ramanathan lose doubles, India beaten 4-0 by Sweden

Indian lost both of their matches in straight sets yesterday, and one loss would knock them out of the Davis Cup World Group I.

India vs Sweden Day 2, World Group 1 Davis Cup: The Swedish team defeated India in World Group 1 of the Davis Cup. The Indian team lost to Sweden 4-0 in Stockholm. On Day 2, the pair of Sriram Balaji and Ramkumar Ramanathan lost in straight sets to Sweden’s Andre Goransson and Filip Bergevi, 6-3, 6-4. In the men’s reverse singles, Siddharth Vishvakarma makes his debut, losing to Elias Ymer in straight sets (6-2,6-2). Both teams decided not to play the fifth match.

Earlier, on Day 1 (Saturday), India’s singles players, Ramkumar Ramanathan and N Sriram Balaji, faced tough challenges against Sweden’s Elias Ymer and Leo Borg, both suffering straight-set defeats. Sweden now holds an unassailable lead in the tie, securing their spot in the World Group Playoffs.
