The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), in collaboration with Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies (MRIIRS), will host the FISU World University Championship Shooting 2024. This prominent event, featuring over 250 university shooting athletes from more than 25 countries, along with a 33-member Indian team, is set to take place in New Delhi from November 9 to 13. The competition will be held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, with an opening ceremony scheduled for November 8 at the Manav Rachna campus.
The championship will feature renowned international shooters, including Paris Olympic bronze medallist Audrey Gogniat from Switzerland and German world record holder Anna Janssen. Emerging Indian Olympians like Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Sift Kaur Samra will also compete, making this a platform for top talent and young athletes alike.
Wide range of shooting events at championship
Participants will compete in various shooting categories, including Rifle, Pistol, and Shotgun events. The lineup also features Olympic events like the 10m Air Pistol for men and women, Mixed Team Trap and Skeet, and the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol. With events spanning from the 10m Air Rifle to Trap and Skeet contests, the championship promises thrilling moments as athletes showcase their precision and skill.
