Team India secured an emphatic 10-1 victory over Canada to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2023 being held in Malaysia. With this win, the Men in Blue finish on the second position in the table in pool C. Despite a fight back from Canada, India proved to be the better side on the field as they completed a 10-1 rout.

Kicking-off the game with an aggressive approach, India scored their first goal in 8 minutes, with Aditya Arjun Lalage finding his mark. Rohit soon followed suit as he scored the side’s next goal at the 12th minute. Canada only managed to score one goal throughout the game and that was scored by Jude Nicholson in the 20th minute.
India continued to mount pressure on Canada with Amandeep Lakra (23′), Vishukant(42′), Rajinder (42′) and Lalage (43′) striking a goal each to extend India’s lead. Kushwaha Sourabh Anand (51’) and Uttam Singh (58’) were the other goal scorers. Lalage was adjudged the player of the match.
