Men’s singles – Lakshya Sen vs HS Prannoy LIVE

Game 3: Lakshya Sen completes a resounding comeback win, clinches decider 21-14.

Game 2: Lakshya Sen forces the decider, takes Game 2 21-9.

Game 1: HS Prannoy shows his experience, beats Lakhsya Sen 21-14 in Game 1.

Sen defeated shuttler HS Prannoy 14-21, 21-9, 21-14 in 60 minutes. Prannoy had started the contest well with a Game 1 win, but Sen showed his class outclassing the Kerala born shuttler to force a decider and eventually clinch the tie to book a  semi-final berth.

Women’s singles – PV Sindhu vs Ashmita Chaliha LIVE

Game 2: PV Sindhu takes the game 21-18, seals semi-final berth.

Game 1: PV Sindhu dominates Ashmita Chaliha, takes Game 1 21-7.

Top seed Sindhu, a former world champion, took 36 minutes to get the better of 21-year-old Chaliha 21-7, 21-18 and set up a last-four clash with Thailand’s Supanida Katethong, seeded sixth. Chaliha took time to get into the groove and put up a good fight in the second game but couldn’t stop Sindhu from walking away with the match.

Sindhu came out all guns blazing in the opening game, jumping to an 11-5 lead at the interval and then reeling off the last 10 points to earn the bragging rights. Chaliha gave a better account of herself in the second game as she tied 9-9 before Sindhu managed a slender one-point advantage at the break. Sindhu zoomed to 15-11 but Chaliha again clawed her way back to 15-15. Thereafter, Sindhu switched gears and grabbed four match points. Chaliha saved two match points before Sindhu closed out the match.

Akarshi Kashyap will face second-seeded Thai Busanan Ongbamrungphan after the Indian notched up a 21-12, 21-15 win over compatriot Malvika Bansod in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Doubles matches – Satwik, Chirag Shetty aims for Semifinals: Star duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be taking on the Singaporean pair of Hee Yong Kai Terry and Loh Kean Hean. The second seed pairing has been at their dominant best so far and will look to continue in the same manner against the Singaporeans.

In mixed doubles, Aswini K. Bhat and Nithin HV will go up against the pairing of Hee Yong Kai Terry and Tai Wei Han from Singapore. Bhat will also be turning up in the women’s doubles as well, where she will pair up with Shikha Gautam. They are the eighth seed in the India Open and they will face the Russian duo of Ekaterina Malkova and Anastasiia Shapovalova.

Mixed doubles pairing of Venkat Gaurav Prasad and Juhi Dewangan will face a tough test, as they will go up against the Malaysian duo of Chen Tang Jie and PeckYen Wei. The Malaysians are the third seeds in the India Open 2022 and it will be an uphill task for the Indian mixed doubles pairing.
