The Indian Hockey Team keeps falling to new lows with each passing day. On Friday, India lost their 4th match of the 5-match Test series to Australia. The series was already gone, and now with the 1-3 loss, Australia stand a chance to white-wash India in the series.
In Perth, it was all the same old story: India took the lead but lost 1-3 to Australia, trailing 0-4 in the test series with one match remaining.
Harmanpreet Singh gave India the lead in the first quarter with a spectacular shot from a penalty corner in the twelfth minute, but Craig Fulton’s team was only able to maintain the lead for seven minutes. In the nineteenth minute, Jeremy Hayward equalized for the Aussies from a penalty corner.
Araijeet Singh Hundal had some strong moments going forward, and Suraj Karkera had a great performance for India in goal, making some incredible saves. But it was all in vain because, despite India maintaining their composure, Australia won the game thanks to a string of penalty corners given up in the last quarter. Hayward scored a brace at 47′ and Jack Welch added a third at 54′ to make it 3-1.
