PV Sindhu is on a mission to script history at the Paris Olympics. The Indian badminton ace, already a two-time Olympic medalist, is determined to become the first Indian to clinch three consecutive Olympic medals.
A ‘confident’ PV Sindhu!
“I am aiming for a medal, definitely, yes. Whether it’s one or two or three, it doesn’t matter. I’ve won two medals and I don’t want to take pressure by thinking that, oh, what is the third one,” she said after a training session at Porte de la Chapelle Arena. “Every time I play Olympics, it’s a new Olympics for me. So every time I go out there, I want to get a medal and hopefully, I will do that hat trick soon.”
With an sharp focus and meticulous preparation, Sindhu is leaving no stone unturned in her quest for glory. Her training regimen has been rigorous, including innovative techniques like spending time in a hypoxic chamber to enhance endurance. Additionally, sparring with diverse opponents has helped her adapt to different playing styles. While her recent form has been inconsistent, Sindhu remains confident. The guidance of mentor Prakash Padukone over the past eight months has instilled a newfound belief in her abilities.
With two medals already in her kitty – a silver from Rio and a bronze from Tokyo – Sindhu is determined to add another to her collection.. The nation eagerly awaits her pursuit of the historic feat.
