Kidambi Srikanth started the game well, opening up a three-point gap. However, Lee Zil Zia came back and Srikanth lost the game 19-21. The second game was a thrilling encounter with both players refusing to bow down. Even though Srikanth made inroads, his opponent took another narrow 22-20 win in the second game as the match ended in 44 minutes.
Lee Zil Zia will face Loh Kean YEW in the final on Sunday.

Former World No. 1 & the sixth seed Srikanth subdued the higher ranked Hong Kong shuttler 21-11, 12-21, 21-19 in a men’s singles quarterfinal that lasted one hour four minutes.
Lakshya won against Netherlands Kulavut Vitidsarn in last Quarterfinal of the day. 20 year old Indian won 21-18, 12-21, 21-19

As expected the Quarterfinal battle for Srikant went to the distance. Indian started with a bang as he easily won the 1st game by 21-19. Angus levelled by winning the 2nd by 21-12. The real test for Kidambi for the set No. 3. Srikanth took the early lead but once again swift looking Taiwanese player fought back by reducing the lead to 19-20. In the end Srikanth prevailed with his trademark down the line smash to win the 3rd game and match 21-19.

Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth showed great determination to outwit NG Ka Long Angus in a hard fought match and cruise into the semifinal of the Hylo Open Super 500 badminton here on Friday.
The sixth seed Srikanth subdued the higher ranked Hong Kong shuttler 21-11, 12-21, 21-19 in a men’s singles quarterfinal that lasted one hour four minutes.
Srikanth, ranked 15, hardly broke a sweat in the first game, taking a 1-0 lead.
However, Indian lost momentum in the second game as the world no nine Angus levelled the proceedings. Both players dominated a game each but the decider was fought on an even keel.
In the end, Srikanth had five match points to seal the deal but the former world no one squandered four before eking out a narrow win.
With the win Srikanth levelled the head to head record against Angus. Both shuttlers now have three wins each against each other.
