D Gukesh has become the youngest chess player to win the World Chess Championship on December 12 in Singapore after defeating Ding Liren in Round 14 with a unbelievable checkmate move on last moments of the game. He is the second Indian Grand Master after Vishwanath Anand to secure a World Chess Championship title. D Gukesh will recieve a big amount for making a history. Chess World Championship Prize Money
Gukesh will earn up to $200,000 for winning a game in World Chess Championship 2024. The Indian grandmaster will receive Rs 16,97,383 (currently converted from USD to INR). As Gukesh won three games in the tournament, and each game earned him Rs. 1.6 crore, he has earned approximately Rs. 4.8 crore. However, it is unclear whether he will receive an additional amount for his title win.

Gukesh said that after the first game loss, he needed to be mentally tough, and he is happy that everything worked out well in the end.
“The toughest challenge was losing the first game. It was humiliating. I needed some mental toughness at that moment. I had to endure these things which were tough. But I am happy it worked out well,” Gukesh after the win.
