In the main event, YouTuber-turned boxer KSI nearly pulled off a big upset over Tommy Fury. Fury, the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, won the six-round fight by majority decision.
Tommy Fury Earning by Defeating KSI
In their professional bout at the Staples Center in 2019, KSI and Logan Paul generated an estimated $900,000 in revenue. According to Total Sportal, KSI received approximately $1 million, which included a guaranteed purse and a 60% share of the pay-per-view earnings.
When it comes to Jake Paul’s fight, Tyson Fury reportedly earned around $4.5 million with a 35% share of the pay-per-view revenue. Unfortunately, Fury’s previous purse history leading up to this fight remains unknown. Mirror reports that Paul suggested Fury could earn $1.5 million in a bout against KSI.
While exact figures have not been disclosed, there are indications that the payout for this fight was substantial.
KSI expressed dissatisfaction with the decision, believing he was unfairly treated. He felt the decision favored the professional boxer (Fury) and the YouTubers, as he stated in the post-fight conference.
In the Misfits Boxing main event on Saturday in Manchester, England, KSI and Tommy Fury fell short of providing entertaining crossover boxing. Their six-round bout was marred by numerous clinches and few landed punches.
