Hockey returns to Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, Delhi as India and Germany to play series in Oct

India and Germany have played 107 matches till now, with the hosts winning 27 and the other side winning 54.

Right after the success of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey, Team India will soon be participating in a bilateral, two-match series against Germany on Tuesday. The 2024 Paris Olympics silver medalists will take on the bronze medalists in New Delhi, at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, on October 23rd and 24th.

Harmanpreet Singh & Co. had narrowly lost out against the Germans 2-3, and now this will be the perfect opportunity for them to avenge that loss. Meanwhile, Germany lost in the final to the Netherlands, while the Indians won the bronze medal playoff versus Spain.

Also, hockey will return to the national capital after a long gap, with the last major tournament taking place in 2010. The stadium had hosted the 2010 World Cup and the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The squad though is not out, but both teams are expected to field youngsters.
