Manu Bhaker has came close to get yet another medal at the Paris Olympics. The ace Indian shooter missed out on a bronze medal in 25 m Pistol event in Paris. She fought hard but eventually slipped to the 4th spot, tied on equal points to miss out on a hattrick of bronze medals
She had a poor start in Stage 1. She started series 1 with just 2 hits but then recovered well. She continued to showcase her prowess in Stage 2 which was the elimination. She continued to build momentum to stay on the second spot. But a couple of loose shots saw her drop to the 4th spot, only to miss the bronze medal by a whisker.
So Close, Yet so Far
Manu Bhaker was just a point away from bagging a hattrick. With 2 bronze medals in 10 m Air Pistol finals, she was gearing up on clinching the gold in the 25 m Pistol finals.
Despite a slow start, she gather momentum and went on to consolidate the second spot. It was safe to say that the Silver Medal would have been her. But she squandered the opportunity to with a couple of bad shots which saw her slipping to the 3rd spot and eventually to the 4th spot.
In the end, it was heartbreak for the 22-year shooter who came fingertips away from bagging a third bronze medal for her country in a single edition of the Olympics.
