Grand Slams Emma Raducanu and Dominic Thiem will head the upcoming Australian Open 2024 qualifying. Despite their past successes, both players must navigate through the qualifiers to secure a spot in the main draw. Apart from Thiem and Raducanu, former top 10 players like David Goffin, Diego Schwartzman, and Sara Errani will also feature in the qualifying rounds.

Raducanu is currently ranked 299th in the WTA rankings and has been absent from the court since April due to wrist and ankle surgery. The former US Open champion reached the top 10 in July 2022, but her ongoing injury concerns have actively impeded her progress over the last few months.
Raducanu missed the direct cut-off for the AO 2024 main draw by five spots, but using her protected ranking of 103, she has a chance to contend for the first grand slam of the year. The 21 years old, actively holds the distinction of being the sole player to claim a Grand Slam singles title in the Open Era after actively starting in the qualifying round.

Thiem, narrowly missing direct entry by just one spot, will actively enter the qualifying round as the top seed. The former World No. 3 has actively grappled with wrist injuries but has also actively demonstrated his prowess by winning four out of his last six matches, including a notable victory over three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka at the Paris Masters.
Among the qualifiers, Alina Korneeva, the reigning champion of the Australian Open girls’ singles title from the previous year, actively adds to the competition.
