India defeated Spain 2-1 in the men’s hockey bronze medal game of the Paris Olympics 2024 on August 8 at Stade Yves-du-Manoir, thanks to two penalty corner conversions by Harmanpreet Singh. As India won their 13th medal in the Olympics history, let us look at the list of their medals.
India, which had previously won bronze in Tokyo three years prior, therefore achieved back-to-back Olympic medals for the first time in fifty-two years. India last won two consecutive Olympic hockey gold in 1968 and 1972.

Between 1928 and 1964, India dominated the Olympics, securing seven gold medals in eight appearances. Pakistan also enjoyed success later, claiming three gold and three silver medals from 1956 to 1984. However, both countries saw their dominance wane, with India last winning gold in 1980 and Pakistan in 1984. India did manage to break the dry spell by winning a bronze medal at the 2020 Olympics.
