From Haryana Steelers to Telugu Titans: List of teams that have never won the PKL

As the PKL advances, several teams remain in pursuit of their maiden trophy, including Gujarat Giants, Haryana Steelers, Telugu Titans, and Tamil Thalaivas.

As the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) gears up for its much-anticipated 11th season, the excitement among fans and players is on the top. Each season, teams come up with top-tier signings and strategies, vying for the coveted trophy and the glory that comes with being crowned champions of one of the most popular sports leagues in the country.

As the new season is around the corner, every team enters the arena with hopes of lifting the championship trophy. With seasoned veterans and emerging stars, the competition promises to be a good show. Among the teams heading into this season, the added pressure will be on the five teams that have yet to win the prestigious PKL trophy. These teams will be eager to break their title drought and establish themselves as top contenders in the league.

1. Gujarat Giants

Gujarat Giants are known for their power-packed defence and have been tough opponents since their inception into the league. The Giants got two-time runner-up finishes in Seasons 5 and 6. These strong performances have set high expectations to claim the title remain undeterred.

2. Haryana Steelers

The Haryana Steelers have always been the title favourites in every season, but the team couldn’t win a single trophy in the league. Their best performance came last year (Season 10), where they reached the finals. Building on this foundation, the Steelers aim to go further in their quest for the trophy.

3. Telugu Titans

Always known for their aggressive raiding and passionate fanbase, the Telugu Titans are always crowd favourites who strive to convert their potential into championship success. Despite having a balanced squad and star raiders, their best finish came in season 2, where they finished third.

4. Tamil Thalaivas

The Tamil Thalaivas are often seen as underdogs capable of pulling off big upsets. Historically struggling to make success, their best finish came in season 2022, where they finished fifth in the league. This season brings a fresh opportunity to reverse their fortunes.

5. UP Yoddhas

The UP Yoddhas brings a balanced approach, focusing on both raiding prowess and strong defence. The team has consistently reached the playoffs since their debut in Season 5, the Yoddha have teased with success, coming close but needing the final push to win the ultimate prize.
