Aman Sehrawat secured a bronze medal for India, the country’s first in wrestling at the Paris Olympics. The youngster is just 21 years old and has clinched the bronze medal for India in the 57kg freestyle wrestling category. And with this win, Aman Sehrawat has surpassed PV Sindhu in becoming India’s youngest Olympic medal recipient for India.
Ace shuttler, PV Sindhu was the youngest Olympic medal recipient for India after bagging the silver at Rio 2016 at an age of 21 years 1 month and 14 days old. But now, Aman Sehrawat at an age of 21 years and 24 days take taken the top spot.
At Paris Olympics, where the rest of the contingent failed to clinch any medal in wrestling, Aman kept India’s tradition going by bagging a medal, as India has been doing since 2008. Apart from Aman and PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal occupies the third spot for clinching the bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics.
Manu Bhaker is also place fourth in the list. She bagged the bronze medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol event. Furthermore, India’s golden boy, Neeraj Chopra is 7th in the standings when he took the gold medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020 at an age of 23 years.
