French Open Highlights: Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz & Stefanos Tsitsipas clinch straight set wins in fourth round

Fourth round action at the French Open 2023 will get underway on 4th June 2023. Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz will headline action for the day.

French Open Highlights: Fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas is in action against Sebastian Ofner in the fourthj round on Sunday, 4th June 2023. Carlos Alcaraz knocked out 17th seed Lorenzo Musetti with a dominant 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 victory to enter the quarterfinal at the French Open 2023. Earlier in the day, Novak Djokovic also sailed past Juan Pablo Varillas with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win in the fourth round of the tournament.

Novak Djokovic vs Juan Pablo Varillas

The two-time champion delivered his most comprehensive victory of the fortnight Sunday, when he eased past Juan Pablo Varillas 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to reach a record 17th Roland Garros quarter-final.

Djokovic dominated his No. 94-ranked opponent on Court Philippe Chatrier, where he struck the ball cleanly off both wings throughout his one-hour, 57-minute victory. He fired 35 winners and converted six of the 12 break points he earned to book a clash against Karen Khachanov in the last eight in Paris.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Lorenzo Musetti

Carlos Alcaraz completed a revenge mission in style Sunday at Roland Garros, where the top seed cruised past Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 with a scintillating fourth-round performance at the clay-court major.

The Spaniard responded to losing the opening two games of the match by claiming 18 of the next 23 to seal a two-hour, eight-minute victory. Alcaraz clubbed the ball with purpose off both wings from the baseline and frequently showcased his delicate touch at the net to power into his second consecutive Roland Garros quarter-final.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Sebastian Ofner

Stefanos Tsitsipas on Sunday set a blockbuster quarter-final showdown at Roland Garros against Carlos Alcaraz when he breezed past Austrian Sebastian Ofner.

After Alcaraz displayed imperious form earlier in the day against Lorenzo Musetti, Tsitsipas responded with a statement performance of his own, losing serve just once en route to a 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 victory.

Daria Kasatkina vs Elina Svitolina

Former World No.3 Elina Svitolina continued her remarkable run through Roland Garros, defeating No.9 seed Daria Kasatkina 6-4, 7-5(5) to advance to the quarterfinals. The victory put the 28-year-old Ukrainian into her first Slam quarterfinal in just her fifth tour-level event since her return from maternity leave. 

Svitolina will face No.2 Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals.
