Sindhu Enters SemiFinals: Sindhu will now take on Sayaka Takahashi of Japan in Last 4 clash on Saturday evening. Takahashi shocked off-color 2nd seed Ratchanok Inathon of Thailand. Japanese player won 21-6, 21-16.

French Open Badminton LIVE – Lakshya Sen crashes out: Lakshya Sen’s impressive show at the French Open Badminton 2021 came to a crashing halt as he was knocked out in the quarter-finals on Friday. The Indian youngster was defeat by Korea’s Heo Kwanghee in straight games in a clash that last just 43 minutes.

Lakshya Sen vs Heo Kwanghee – French Open quarter-finals LIVE 

Lakshya Sen crashed out of the French Open Badminton 2021 after a disappointing defeat at the hands of Korea’s Heo Kwanghee. The 20-year-old was in fine form heading into the game and showed his class in the opening exchanges, racing to a three-point lead in Game 1. However, Kwanghee bounced back to clinch eight straight points to seal the game, showing a ruthless accuracy as seen in his win over Kento Momota. The South Korean did not look back and continued his momentum into the second game, eventually clinching it with supreme ease, with a 21-15 win.

Meanwhile the day wasn’t good for Verma brothers as both Sameer Verma & Sourabh Verma lost out their last 16 matches. Sameer crashed out of the Quarterfinal race after retiring against Indonesia’s Rhustavito & Sourabh lost to Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto in straight sets.

French Open Badminton LIVE: Brilliant PV Sindhu & young Lakshya Sen enters Quarterfinals with ease: Follow LIVE Updates

Sindhu Lakshya Enters Quarterfinals: Sindhu advanced to the quarter-finals of the women’s singles by beating Denmark’s Line Christophersen 21-19, 21-9 on Thursday.

Sindhu will now face world No. 13 Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand 2nd consecutive week for place in the Semi-Finals.

The two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu had a challenging start against Line Christophersen, ranked 24th, as the Dane picked up a 5-0 lead in the opening game

However, the world No. 7 PV Sindhu rallied back to win four points on the trot and went into the break with a slender 11-10 lead.

A string of unforced errors from Christophersen helped the Indian reach 16-10 but the Dane also fought back to close the gap to 20-19. However, a long shot from Christophersen helped Sindhu take the first game 21-19.

The second game, however, was easy sailing for the reigning world champion PV Sindhu as she built a big lead courtesy of her brilliant body smashes. The game ended 21-9 in Sindhu’s favour.

Lakshya Sen in Quarterfinals: 19 year old Lakshya gave absolute sensational display as he defeated Loh Kean Yew of Singapore 21-17, 21-13 to made it to the last 8. Lakshay will now take on Heo Kwanghee of South Korea for place in the Semi-Finals of French Open.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Ashwini Ponappa LOST- Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty edged out another Indian duo to cruise into the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles in the ongoing French Open here at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin on Thursday.

Battling it out at Court 2, Rankireddy and Shetty defeated compatriots M R Arjun and Dhruv Kapila 15-21, 21-10, 21-9 in 58 minutes. In another late-night encounter, Sourabh Verma bowed out after losing to Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto 12-21, 9-21 in just 37 minutes. The Japenese was in control of the tie from the word go as he dominated and cruised into the next round with ease.
