Satwik Chirag FINAL LIVE streaming: The Indian pair, who are the seventh seed in this tournament started the tournament by defeating Popov Brothers from France with a come-from-behind 19-21, 21-9, 21-13 victory. They then sailed past Malaysia’s Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun in straight sets to enter the quarterfinal.
In the quarterfinal they were up against top seeded Japanese pair Takuro Hoki and Yugi Kobayashi and hardly broke a sweat as they won the game in straight sets to reach the semifinal. In the semifinal too they showcased good form to sail past South Korea’s Choi-sol-gyu and Kim-won-Ho 21-18, 21-14 to reach the final.
Meanwhile, Chinese Taipei’s Choi-sol-gyu and Kim-won-Ho started the tournament by clinching an upset victory over second seed Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo in three games to enter the second round.
They defeated England’s Ben Lane and Sean Vendy in straight games in the semifinal to advance to the summit clash. This is the Taipei duo’s first-ever appearance in the final of a tournament this season.
This will be the first time both the pairs will be meeting in the BWF tour.
- The Indian pair has been in great form as they defeated South Korea’s unseeded Choi-sol-gyu and Kim-won-Ho in straight games in the semifinal to become the second Indian Men’s doubles pair to reach the final at the French Open.
- The last Men’s Doubles players from India to win the French Open title were Partho Ganguli and Vikram Singh in 1983. But at that time the tournament did not enjoy such standing as it enjoys today.
