Floyd Mayweather Is Ready To Sign Ryan Garcia
Garcia was seen hanging out with Floyd Mayweather, and they were spotted enjoying a WNBA game together. This interaction caught the attention of many from fans to Garcia’s former promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, who shared their thoughts. De La Hoya expressed his happiness for Garcia, as there were speculations about him potentially signing a deal with Mayweather. For those who don’t know, there is beef between Hoya and Garcia so he will soon depart the Golden Boy Promotion.
Given the significant buzz surrounding the situation, Mayweather addressed the matter during an interview with Fighthype. When asked about the possibility of signing Garcia, he responded by saying:, “I’m not looking to sign Ryan, but if he wants to sign and he’s free, I’d sign him. If I’m not mistaken he’s under contract, you’ve always gotta make sure things are worded right before you get a lawsuit from a boxer’s promoter.”
Floyd Mayweather expressed that he isn’t actively seeking to sign Ryan Garcia, but he’s open to the idea if Garcia expresses interest and is not bound by a contract. Mayweather emphasized the importance of careful wording to avoid legal issues from a boxer’s promoter.
He stated speaking hypothetically, if Garcia becomes a free agent, he could potentially join either Mayweather Promotions or PBC. And Mayweather affirmed his interest in collaborating with the best, but only if Garcia’s contractual situation allows for it. In his words, “Hypothetically – if Ryan Garcia gets free, will Ryan Garcia be with Mayweather Promotions or PBC? Absolutely. Only if he’s free. I mean, who don’t wanna work with the best.”
Many boxing enthusiasts speculate that KingRy might be interested in departing from Golden Boy Promotions in order to join PBC. This move could potentially set the stage for a lucrative rematch with Tank Davis and a well-compensated bout against WBA 140-lb belt-holder Rolly Romero. However, as of now, there is no official confirmation, so only time will reveal the path that Garcia’s future in boxing takes.
