The 10th edition of the FIH Women’s Junior World Cup is currently underway in Santiago, Chile. The tournament for the Under-21 men women features 16 teams and will be held till 10th December this year.
India Women eye their maiden title in the tournament. Meanwhile, Netherlands are the defending champions. The Dutch girls won the country’s fourth title in the tournament at the last edition, held in South Africa in 2022.
FIH Women’s Junior World Cup – Groups
All the teams competing in the ongoing tournament have been divided into four groups of four teams each.
Pool A will feature defending champions Netherlands, along with hosts Chile, last edition’s hosts South Africa and Australia.
Pool B comprise s Argentina and Spain along with South Korea and Zimbabwe. India is placed in Pool C along with last-year’s runner-up Germany, Belgium and Canada. Meanwhile, Pool D have England, Japan, New Zealand and United States.
Pool A – Chile, Australia, Netherlands, South Africa
Pool B – South Korea, Argentina, Spain, Zimbabwe
Pool C – India, Belgium, Germany, Canada
Pool D – England, Japan, New Zealand, United States
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals while the other teams will enter classification rounds.

India in FIH Women’s Junior World Cup 2023
The Indian girls narrowly missed a medal in the last edition of the World Cup. They secured a fourth place finish and eye a much better show in the upcoming edition.
Defender Preeti is leading the side in the tournament. The Junior Women’s team faced success by winning the Junior Asia Cup title this year. With this, they have entered the tournament with confidence.
