Novak Djokovic is arguably the best tennis player the world has ever seen, as far as the Grand Slam titles are concerned, but Roger Federer is the preferred choice for many. So, when the two met on court, it was always a special occasion for the fans. One such match where Djokovic and Federer created magic was the 2019 Wimbledon final, where the former won, despite the Swiss being the favorite to win.

The Serb won the marathon five-setter 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12, which not many had given him a chance to pull off. That match will also be remembered for Djokovic coming back from two match points down, and Federer breaking down after the loss. In a recent interview with, ‘In 60 minutes with CBS’, the Serb opened up about the match and also said that Federer was ‘the far better player’ than him in the 2019 Wimbledon final.
He said, “That happened in 2019 when I played finals of Wimbledon, that marathon match, epic match with Roger. I remember that very well. I beat him 13-12 in the fifth set. The sets that I won were all won in tie breaks, seven-six, seven-six, 13-12. And overall, if you see stats, he was far better player in every aspect.”
“But I won the match. And so that actually tells you that you can still win if you pick and choose in which moments of the match you’re peaking, and you’re playing your best when it matters.”
Federer vs Djokovic H-2-H
Without any doubt, the two had one of the fiercest rivalries in tennis. In the 50 matches Federer-Djokovic played together, the Serb won 27 times, while losing on 23 occasions. In the majors, Djokovic led 11-6, out of which five were finals, and 11 were semis.
