In a video of the incident that is going viral on social media, Vinesh Phogat is seen sitting on a chair with Bajrang Punia by her side. The wrestler was given water by a concerned looking Punia. Phogat had reportedly traveled continuously for 20 hours before the event in which she fainted.

From being garlanded to taking selfies with fans, the wrestler was showered love on her return from what was a heartbreaking yet victorious campaign.

I still don’t know whether I deserve all the accolades or not. But I feel myself to be the luckiest to be born in this village. I want to clear this debt of my village and I assure that I would always fight for the honour of the women and of this village,” Vinesh Phogat said.

Phogat suffered a heartbreak at the Games after being disqualified from her gold medal bout for being 100 gm overweight on the day of the weigh-in. An appeal was filed with the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) but it went in vain as the court upheld the decision made earlier, depriving Vinesh off a well-deserved medal.
