Edgbaston Weather Report: Rain to have a say in the Afternoon session on day four of Ashes opener at Edgbaston

According to AccuWeather, there is only 5% of rain predicted in the morning session. However, in the afternoon session, there is a 51% chance of rain. The number will again go down to 15% in the final session of play. There will be rain interruptions on day four of the Birmingham Test as well. With two wickets on day three, Australia are slightly in the driver’s seat. England would be hoping to make s strong comeback on day four if the weather gods show some mercy.

England would be yet again banking on their talisman Joe Root to do the bulk of the scoring. The right-hand batter slammed a sublime hundred in the first innings and allowed England to go past 390. Root’s measured innings allowed other batters to play in an aggressive manner. In the second innings, the former England captain’s runs would be vital in deciding the outcome of the first Ashes Test.
