Dream turned into a nightmare: Nishant Dev reflects on controversial loss in Paris Olympics

Paris Olympics: Indian boxer Nishant Dev promises to work hard and make even stronger comeback after controversial loss in Paris

Indian boxer Nishant Dev broke down after his controversial loss in Paris Olympics. With a heavy heart to took to social media to reflect upon his loss in the quarterfinals. Nishant Dev went on to reveal how he has been heartbroken after his loss. He claimed that no one knows how hard he has worked, but then in one cruel moment, everything was taken away from him.

Despite a good fight in his quarterfinals, Nishant Dev eventually lost out 1-4 to Mexico’s Marco Verde Alvarez. And now after the sad end, Dev claimed that he is angry and filled with sadness.

“Nobody truly knows how hard I worked, the countless hours I dedicated to manifesting this dream, and the honesty and truthfulness I poured into my training. Every day was a step toward this goal, every sacrifice a testament to my commitment. And in one cruel moment, it was all taken away from me,” Dev wrote on his social media.

Nishant Dev extremely upset

Following his loss the other day, he claimed that everything was ripped from him. He claimed that his dream turned into a nightmare when he heard the judged score. Dev further claimed that he experienced immense pain, anger and disappointment after his unjust loss.

“It felt like a dream turned into a nightmare in an instant. Hearing the judges’ scores, it felt as though there was nothing left in my body. The pain was so intense that I felt I just couldn’t take it.” Dev wrote.

Nishant Dev is however ready to work hard again. He claims that his journey hasn’t ended, in fact it now begins on fresh note. He pledges that he will train harder to make a further strong comeback.

“I may have missed out on a medal but I have gained a renewed sense of purpose. My journey doesn’t end here; it begins anew. I will train harder, fight smarter, and come back fiercer,” he concluded.
