After being named captain for the upcoming Asian Games 2023, Ruturaj Gaikwad has expressed his desire to bring ultimate glory to India. The Indian Cricket Team, led by Gaikwad, will be present in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8. In a video uploaded by the BCCI on their social media accounts, Gaikwad, who is currently with the Indian team on the India tour of the West Indies, is seen expressing his happiness. The 26-year-old talks about being awarded leadership, representing India, and his aim to bring home the gold medal.
“Really thankful for this opportunity by the BCCI, the management, and the selectors. Playing for India itself is a really proud feeling. And leading this side in such a big event will be a big opportunity for me personally”. said Gaikwad on being given the responsibility to lead the side.
“To win the medal for the country is something that we always grew up watching on television. Obviously, to get the opportunity to go out there and win the medal would be really special”. Gaikwad said on being awarded the opportunity to represent India at the Asian Games.
