Ajinkya Rahane has returned to the Test arena with a bang. The former Indian captain reached his 26th half-century against the dangerous Australian attack on Day 3 at the Oval. India started the day on a bad note when Scott Boland castled KS Bharat with just the second ball of the day. Rahane, however, showed his grit and determination and stood in the middle like a rock. The middle-order batter was selected for the WTC Final 2023 on the back of his domestic performance over the last one and a half years, and the veteran showed that form is temporary but class is permanent when the Indian side needed him the most.
