Almost within grasp but still out of reach, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu splendidly performed in the snatch, lifting 85 and 88 kg, but failed to do well in the clean and jerk. As a result, she finished 4th in the Paris Olympics final, which hurts more than a clean failure. Mirabai lifted a total of 199 kg, which includes snatch and clean and jerk, finishing behind Zhihui Hou of China with 206 kg, Mihaela Valentina Cambei of Romania with 205 kg, and Surodchana Khambao of Thailand with 200 kg.
