The Serbian’s charity organisation, Novak Djokovic Foundation auctioned the shirt. It was done to raise funds for children’s education in Kosovo. The iconic blue shirt fetched 11,000 euros. Djokovic’s wife Jelena Djokovic was present at the event. He posted a story on Instagram. She wrote, “The jersey is for 11000e. Rest of the money goes to Kosovska Mitrovica to increase the capacity of kindergartens for our children.”
Djokovic can next be seen in action at the upcoming Dubai Tennis Championships. The ATP 500 event is set to begin on 27th February 2023. The Serbian is seeking to feature in the year’s first Master 1000 dual events at the Miami Open and Indian Wells Masters. He is currently facing a ban to enter USA due to his non-vaccination status.
