Disappointing show for India at Korea Open: All shuttlers knocked out in opening round

Indian shuttlers Ashmita Chaliha, Malvika Bansod, and Aakarshi Kashyap exited the Korea Open in the first round, ending India’s run in the Super 500 tournament.

Indian shuttlers failed to impress as Ashmita Chaliha, Malvika Bansod, and Aakarshi Kashyap were knocked out in the first round of the Korea Open. This marks the ending of India’s run in the Super 500 badminton tournament on Wednesday.

Ashmita, ranked 53rd, couldn’t compete against world number 17 Pornpawee Chochuwong, losing 8-21, 13-21 in a one-sided match, while Aakarshi was defeated 15-21, 15-21 by Denmark’s Line Christophersen in another encounter. World No. 41 Malvika put up a strong fight but narrowly lost 21-18, 15-21, 17-21 to Denmark’s Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt, ranked 18th.

No success in mixed doubles

In mixed doubles, the Indian pair Ayush Raj Gupta and Sruti Swain fell 7-21, 12-21 to Korea’s Ko Sung Hyun and Eom Hye Won.
