Reigning world champion and Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Neeraj Chopra will look to make an early season statement ahead of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Neeraj Chopra, and Asian Games silver medalist, Kishore Jena, will represent India in the 10-man javelin field at the Doha Diamond League on May 10.

Chopra and Kishore Jena will face difficult opposition from a world-class field that includes former world champion Anderson Peters, and Olympic silver medalists Jakub Vadlejch, and Julius Yego. Notably, Germany’s Johannes Vetter, who has been fighting ailments for the past three years, did not make the 10-man roster. Max Dehning, who became the youngest man to throw the 90m earlier this year, will also not compete in Doha.
Chopra, who won the Doha Diamond League last year, hopes to compete again for the first time since earning gold at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. The Diamond League finalist, who won the gold medal in the Olympics, is eager to get off to a good start and set the benchmark early in the Olympic year.
Kishore Jena hopes to build on his achievements from 2023 and position himself strongly in the Olympic year. The 28-year-old Indian showed off his skills in the Asian Games last year, winning a silver medal with a personal best throw of 87.54m.
